The installation direction of the 200X pressure reducing valve (pilot operated pressure reducing valve) has clear requirements, and the core principle is to install it according to the flow direction of the medium indicated by the arrow on the valve body. Reverse installation is strictly prohibited, otherwise it will cause the pressure reducing function to fail, the valve to be damaged, and even system hazards.
The specific installation direction requirements and precautions are as follows:
Flow direction requirement: The valve body will be clearly marked with arrows pointing in the positive flow direction of the medium (i.e. from the high-pressure input end to the low-pressure output end). For example, in the water supply network, it is necessary to point the arrow towards the water side and confirm that the water flows from the municipal network (high-pressure end) to the user end (low-pressure end) after being depressurized by valves.
The hazards of reverse installation: If installed in reverse, the medium pressure will act on the reverse surface of the valve core, causing the valve core to fail to open or close normally. This not only fails to achieve pressure reduction, but may also cause abnormal increase in outlet pressure (overpressure), damaging downstream pipelines, valves, or water equipment; At the same time, it will damage the internal sealing structure of the valve, causing leakage, and in severe cases, it may cause the valve to jam or burst.
Installation posture coordination: The 200X pressure reducing valve usually supports horizontal or vertical installation, but regardless of the posture, the direction of the arrow needs to be consistent with the actual flow direction of the medium. When installed vertically, it is recommended that the medium move smoothly from bottom to top to facilitate the balance of force on the valve core and improve the stability of pressure reduction; When installed horizontally, the valve body should be kept level to avoid the valve core getting stuck due to tilting.
Supporting installation assistance: During installation, a filter (with a filtration accuracy of ≤ 2mm) should be installed on the inlet side of the valve to prevent impurities from entering the valve core and affecting its movement; It is recommended to install gate valves at the purchasing end to cut off the water source during maintenance; Sufficient straight pipe sections should be reserved before and after the valve (usually ≥ 10 times the nominal diameter at the inlet end and ≥ 5 times the nominal diameter at the outlet end) to confirm stable pressure reduction effect.
