Core functions and working principles

The Y-shaped filter is an excellent filtering device in pipeline systems. Its core function is to intercept solid impurities (such as rust, sand, welding slag, etc.) in the fluid through a built-in filter screen, protecting downstream equipment (such as valves, pumps, compressors, etc.) from wear, blockage, or damage. Its working principle is as follows:

Filtering process: Fluid flows into the main pipe and enters the filter basket (or filter screen), where impurities are intercepted on the surface or inside of the filter screen. Clean fluid flows out from the branch pipe.

Differential pressure monitoring and cleaning: Some models are equipped with differential pressure switches. When the inlet and outlet pressure difference reaches the set value, the electronic controller triggers the cleaning program. The electric motor drives the brush to rotate and clean the filter element, while controlling the valve to open for drainage. The entire process only takes a few tens of seconds, and the system automatically resumes operation after cleaning is completed.

The flange cover can be unscrewed for regular removal of impurities from the filter basket.

Some models support a speed suitable for disassembling the filter screen, making cleaning or replacement convenient and reducing maintenance costs.

Y-shaped filters should generally be installed horizontally to ensure that the filter screen can effectively intercept impurities and facilitate drainage.

Avoid installation at curved or vertical pipes to avoid affecting the filtration effect.

Regularly clean the filter screen according to the impurity content of the medium to avoid blockage and increase in system pressure.

Check if the differential pressure switch and electronic controller are working properly, and confirm that the cleaning program is triggered in a timely manner.

Filter blockage: Clean or replace the filter and check if the medium contains excessive impurities.

Abnormal pressure difference: calibrate the pressure difference switch and check if the signal transmission of the electronic controller is normal.
